I took some pictures!

They’re nothing special.  There’s not much color in the world here right now.  Its either muddy, or snowing.  Sigh.  Spring, where are you???

But I’m complaining.  Let me start again.

We went on a hike in the ‘badlands’ this weekend.  Scrambling around in the soft dirt, exploring eroded out caves, looking for the remains of trappers and the buttons off of the cavalry outfits.  Good times.

We started here:

Well, we started at the car, but meandered up to here.

The stories I conjured in my head related to these two crosses…  They look old, don’t they?  Weathered?  Like maybe they’ve been there since all the Spanish missionaries were taking the Camino Real up to Taos?  There’s a spring just down from here, and I am convinced the Spanish equivalent of Friar Tuck made these while his mule got a drink.

Here is the journey D-ennis and I took:

This is the path Jack took.

Needless to say, he was a bit tired when we got back to the car.
